| Mastercard Europe expected its transaction volumes to increase significantly as a result of its strategic evolution and the integration of domestic markets across Europe. They wanted to redesign their application architecture to handle multiple business models and message formats and to catch higher volumes (20 mios/hour) while respecting current service level agreements. The requirements of the system applied to several processing steps: parsing, validation, retrieval, format conversion, billing, settlement and logging transactions.
First, different proof of concept systems were developed, each one based on a different technical platform. Xpectis was one of the three consortiums invited to demonstrate their capability. Thanks to our success in reaching and surpassing the demanding requirements on performance and scalability of hardware and software, we have been selected to collaborate with Mastercard Europe in the development of the final product.
