services have evolved at an extremely fast pace over the last four
to five years, at times so fast that it has been difficult for even
the most competitive operator to ensure that the service offerings
are up to date. With the introduction of GPRS for data services, operators
needed to ensure that their network entities were able to communicate
and understand each other so that GPRS could be offered and billed
to the subscriber base. However turning to the entity vendors for
an upgrade is often very expensive, this is where Xpectis was able
to step in and help.
The Client came to us because they wanted to have a real-time interface
for the conversion of GPRS CDRs (Call Detail Records) to a proprietary
format readable by their prepaid system. The mediation system on
the network had to process ASN.1 files in a format proprietary to
the GPRS supplier and support the predicted GPRS volumes of the
client.
